Not a superb performance in all honesty but Juve are maturing.
Against sides with 6-8 defenders at all times, sometimes luck is needed the most.
Juventus found it hard to have one clear chance to score.
Attackers were ineffective in every way, Matri isolated & didn’t find any target, no room for Vucinic, Pepe’s hardworking as usual but no end product. Quagli - Del Piero brought some fresh and new ideas into the pitch, but still need to be more clinical and decisive.
Slowly but surely Quagliarella is finding his movement, still not at his best but his understanding with the new teammates and tactics is definitely growing.
Without Pirlo it’s quite hard, the team doesn’t have a great passer/ball distributor. BUT Pazienza did very well last night. Not the best passer but he won back every ball, quite a tackler, well positioned and discipline. Bottom line is, in an emergency situation Pazienza is reliable. Conte definitely should’ve started him at San Paolo, result might’ve been different.
Match was ‘tainted’ with undeserved red card and penalty. Poor Antonioli!
A rather long report eh? Believe me this is not an easy game! This is the kind of game I’m more concerned.
